Breaking News: Phillies Outfielder Brandon Marsh’s Reject Contract Offer And Officially Announce Shock Departure

Brandon Marsh’s 2025 season continues to spiral, as misfortune seems to follow the Phillies outfielder. After a rough start offensively, Marsh landed on the 10-day injured list with a right knee strain, retroactive to April 17. His recovery stint with the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs has now encountered another obstacle. On Sunday, during his fourth minor league game and third start in center field, Marsh exited after six innings due to a hamstring issue. According to Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia, he’ll be reexamined in Philadelphia on Monday.

Once penciled in as the team’s everyday center fielder, Marsh is quickly losing his grip on the role. He’s batting just .095 and is mired in an 0-for-31 slump. Though his defense remains solid, it hasn’t compensated for his offensive struggles. Last season, Marsh hit .249 with 16 home runs and 60 RBI, showing promise mainly against right-handers.

IronPigs' extra-inning setback ends five-game winning streak

Manager Rob Thomson aimed to give him more chances versus lefties this year, but he had only 16 at-bats against them before the injury. In the meantime, Johan Rojas has stepped up, starting 10 straight games before Sunday and batting .310 with nine hits, six runs, and five RBI. If Rojas continues to produce, Marsh may return to a bench role—assuming his latest injury doesn’t slow his rehab further.
