Duke Shares Farewell Message After Cooper Flagg’s Freshman Season

The Duke Blue Devils boasted one of the most talented rosters in college basketball, but they were ultimately outmatched in the NCAA Tournament.

Despite a standout lineup, including freshman Cooper Flagg, the Blue Devils fell short to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four.

This defeat came just before the national championship game, following an impressive March Madness run where they defeated Mount St. Mary’s, Baylor, Arizona, and Alabama.

After the season concluded, Duke expressed gratitude towards the players, coaching staff, and fans through a social media post.

“Shoutout to a squad that represented Duke Basketball at the highest level,” Duke shared.

In addition, the team secured the ACC regular season title and a few players stood to benefit from the SEC Tournament.

Despite having an exquisite roster that passed the eye test on both ends of the floor, even freshman Cooper Flagg couldn’t stop the Blue Devils from losing to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four.

Duke suffered the loss to Houston just before the national title game and after they went on an incredible March Madness run with wins over Mount St. Mary’s, Baylor, Arizona and Alabama.
Following the season, Duke posted a thankful message for the players, coaching staff and fans on social media.

“S/O to a squad that repped Duke Basketball at the highest level,” posted Duke.

Duke was also able to win the ACC regular season title and the few names who could benefit from the SEC Tournament.
