Breaking: NBA Dream Looms as Blue Devils’ Season Ends in Heartbreaking Collapse

The Duke Blue Devils’ season ended with a tough collapse in the final eight minutes of their Final Four game against the Houston Cougars. As a result, it’s likely that one of their star player’s times with Duke is over.

He is expected to enter the 2025 NBA Draft and is projected to be the top pick for whichever team wins the lottery. If his Duke career has indeed ended, he certainly lived up to the expectations, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game. He also shot 48.1% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc. At this point, he hehas not officially commented on his future plans. However, he did express his excitement about the possibility of playing in the NBA, calling it a dream and a blessing to be drafted by any team.

Is Cooper Flagg returning to Duke? Blue Devils star's NBA future

“It would be a blessing for me to get drafted [by any] team in the NBA,” he said. “That’s a dream of mine, to play in the NBA. I would feel completely blessed and honored to play for any team.” In light of these developments, former Duke star Jay Williams weighed in on the situation during an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show.” He strongly believes that Flagg won’t return to Duke for another year, stating, “I just can’t see Cooper Flagg staying at Duke. Think about how many max contracts he can get, and I imagine he would be trying to start that process as soon as possible.” While Williams’ perspective may not please many Duke fans, it’s clear that passing up the opportunity to be the No. 1 pick would be a tough decision.
