The shoes of a great coach like Mike Krzyzewski are frequently too huge to ever be replaced, so being his successor is no simple feat. However, since Krzyzewski gave him the keys after his retirement in 2022, Jon Scheyer has performed admirably.

Scheyer worked as an assistant on the Duke staff, but he was very sure he would end up as a head coach somewhere else.

Years later, Scheyer leads one of the most illustrious and prosperous teams in all of sports and is regarded as one of the top college basketball coaches. Five-star 2025 Miami Columbus twins Cameron and Cayden Boozer confirmed unequivocally that they are still committed to Duke in an interview with Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports. The Boozers at Duke were primarily recruited by Jai Lucas, the new head coach of Miami.

For Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Miami, Jim Larranaga, and the Hurricanes were considered the runner-up. There were concerns that the Boozers would switch to the Hurricanes after Lucas was hired by Miami. With their father, Carlos, a member of the Blue Devils’ 2001 National Championship squad, Duke has gained the Boozers’ allegiance.
