Breaking: Done Deal Minnesota Vikings Acquire $65 Million Closer In Blockbuster Deal
After interviewing with the Vikings on Monday, former first-round CB Jeff Okudah is signing with the team on a one-year deal, says NFL insider Adam Schefter. The Houston Texans were Okudah’s most recent team.

Okudah, 26, was previously selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Due to injury, he only played in nine games overall, starting six of them. As a rookie, he recorded one interception, two pass breakups, and 47 tackles. Okudah recovered with 15 starts for the Lions in 2022 after missing one game due to another injury in 2021. He finished that season with seven interceptions, a career-high 73 tackles, and one interception that was recovered for a score.
Okudah played one season with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 before joining the Texans last season. He participated in 13 games overall, starting nine of them, which is the second-most he has played in since being selected. He finished the season with three pass breakups and forty-four tackles.
In addition to filling out the cornerback room, the Vikings’ acquisition of Okudah is an inexpensive move that gives the former high selection pick an opportunity to revitalize his career under Brian Flores. If he succeeds, the Vikings stand to gain from both his play as a rotational cornerback and, should he truly find his footing in Minnesota, a possible compensatory selection.
