Following the deals with Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals alter their plans for Trey Hendrickson.
In addition to spending a lot of money on new contracts for Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase on Sunday night, the Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly trying to retain Trey Hendrickson, just weeks after letting him pursue a trade.
With 17.5 sacks in the previous season, the All-Pro defensive end led the NFL. He is looking for an extension with the Bengals that would pay him more than $30 million annually as he enters the final season of his current contract.
On Monday morning, Dianna Russini of The Athletic tweeted this update: “Sources: Cincinnati is working to retain Trey Hendrickson and discussions are ongoing between the two sides. The Bengals are attempting to do what many in the league thought difficult and keep — and pay — all three of their stars.”
