Things will not get much easier for the Duke basketball team, which is limping toward the end of the conference season, when they play Louisville in the ACC Tournament Championship on Saturday night.
After relocating his shoulder during the Blue Devils’ quarterfinal victory over Georgia Tech, Duke’s outstanding backup center Maliq Brown will not play in the championship game.
Regarding Brown’s injury, Jon Scheyer stated, “We need to give it a couple days,” following the team’s 74-71 semifinal victory over North Carolina.
“We must return to college and resolve this issue. It goes without saying that his playing days are over.
During his news conference on Thursday afternoon, Scheyer stated that Brown was carried to the hospital for additional assessment after being stretchered out of the arena. On Friday night, his arm was in a sling on the Duke bench.
