JUST IN: Two Buffalo Bills Center Players Send A Strong Message To Management About Their Retirement From The NFL.

On Thursday, March 6, former Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse, who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, announced his retirement. In April, the 2022 Pro Bowl player and veteran will turn 33.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Morse in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, selecting him with the 49th overall pick. After Kansas City lost to the New England Patriots in the 2018 AFC Championship Game, he left the team after playing for them for his first four seasons in the NFL. Morse agreed to a four-year contract with Buffalo that off-season, totaling $44.5 million.

Thus, Morse and quarterback Josh Allen formed a strong connection. Morse, the Kent Hull to Allen’s Jim Kelly, was the man right in front of Allen as he developed as a quarterback and a football player in general. Since Morse undoubtedly contributed to Allen’s transformation from a young, inexperienced player to one who could effectively read and analyze defenses, the two have shown a great lot of respect for one another throughout the years.

Morse started each of his 77 regular-season games while playing with the Bills. In Buffalo’s crimson, royal, and white uniform, he also started ten postseason games. In addition to having a well-documented history of concussions—he officially sustained six during the 2022 season—Morse was dismissed due to salary limit issues before the 2024 season began. Even though he didn’t miss any games in 2023 or 2024, he was assessed for yet another head injury while playing for Jacksonville in November of last year.

Morse has two small children with his wife, Caitlin. They were tremendous contributors to the community while they were in Western New York, and we wish them the very best as Mitch starts the next phase of his life.

No. 60, it was a fantastic ten-year career. Thank you for all you done for the Buffalo Bills! agreed to a $10.5 million, two-year contract with the Jaguars.
