An injury setback for a former first-round draft selection of the St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals’ pitching depth has suffered as the Spring Training schedule has transitioned to March. Zack Thompson, a left-handed pitcher who spent the previous season alternating between Triple-A Memphis and St. Louis, tore his left lat muscle.
According to baseball operations president John Mozeliak, #STLCards LHP Zack Thompson will be out for three to four weeks due to a Grade 1 lat strain.
Thompson has only made one appearance this spring. In 2024, he was 0-2 with a 9.53 ERA in five games with the Cards.
