Breaking: A documentary about the Philadelphia Phillies’ MLB journey is available on Netflix After Kyle Schwarber, the top veteran star and Rob Thomson’s coach of the year
In 2024, the Philadelphia Phillies won the National League East with a 95-67 record. The Phillies must keep their best players healthy and on the field if they hope to win the division again this year. Slugger Kyle Schwarber is seeing some action at first base during spring training, which creates a plenty of lineup options.
It’s only good. Correct? According to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, Schwarber remarked. “It benefits me. During camp, I can do something else. And if we’re facing a righty one day, we can keep left-handed batters [in the lineup] and get [Bryce] Harper off his feet if he needs a day off. We can accomplish that. I believe having that is only beneficial.
Schwarber is starting his fourth season with Philadelphia at the age of thirty-two. Schwarber has only played 75 defensive innings at first base in his Major League career, but he is used to the position. Schwarber playing some first base during the regular season could allow Bryce Harper to serve as the designated hitter and get a day off of his feet.
He and Harper together would retain strong left-handed bats in the lineup to counter opposition right-handed pitching, as Schwarber previously mentioned.
