Max Lofy, a former cornerback for the Wisconsin Badgers and a 3-star recruit in 2020, makes an unexpected football career decision.
After receiving devastating news about his health, Max Lofy’s plans to leave the Wisconsin Badgers and enroll at Rice University in 2025 would no longer be possible.
The senior cornerback announced on X that he was forced to medically retire after doctors found complication on his heart.
Lofy said on X, “I have decided to medically retire from football due to recent findings in my clearing process here at Rice.”
“I’ve been informed of several heart-related issues, and after consulting with my family and several doctors, I’ve determined that this is the best course of action for my future and my family’s future.”

Despite an injury, Lofy has time with the Badgers to enjoy and boast about.
He joined the squad as a three-star recruit in 2020, and in 2020 and 2021, he made his debuts as a true freshman and a redshirt freshman, respectively.
Sadly, his football ambitions came to an end.
He earned 15 total tackles and one interception in 2022, his greatest season wearing the Badgers outfit.
When he was forced to miss the 2023 season due to injury, his progress was halted.
Despite making few appearances, he was named the starting cornerback for the Badgers last season. He collected three tackles while playing in nine games.
