According to the Associated Press Top 25 College Basketball rating, the Badgers are the top-ranked club in their league and recently rose to third place in the Big Ten.
It was projected that the club will position 12th overall. However, it is impossible to blame critics for their dismal 2024 finish and the large number of players that left through the transfer window.
John Tonje’s acquisition was also criticized by some, which is unfortunate given how the graduate guard is now performing and how he punishes opponents in crucial situations.
The Badgers have five games left and can yet improve because they are expected to defeat their next opponents.
The way their thinking was developed and conditioned throughout the offseason may be the reason behind that.

Purdue was selected by the ESPN Gameday staff, but the Wisconsin Badgers silenced them.
Many people would not be surprised by this because Purdue was a 5.5 favorite at home and the ESPN Gameday team usually sticks to the favorites in both basketball and football. Additionally, they rate higher in the majority of measures and surveys. However, the ESPN Gameday team spent time complimenting the Badgers before they proceeded to criticize them, which either made Wisconsin supporters giggle or furious, or perhaps both.
