Breaking: The Milwaukee Bucks formally declared that they had signed a third 76ers key man for $367.
Joel Embiid, a center for the Philadelphia 76ers, stated on Sunday that he may need to have another operation on his problematic left knee.
Since he hurt his knee against the Golden State Warriors on January 30, 2024, Embiid’s knee has never been completely recovered. Seven days later, he had surgery to repair a torn meniscus, but the
In Sunday’s 135-127 road defeat to the Milwaukee Backs, Embiid had 27 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists in his 16th game of the season. After missing 15 games in a row because of his knee, he did sit out on Wednesday, making it his third game in six days.
Embiid stated, “Every day, take it day by day,” following the Milwaukee defeat. Should things worsen, you must take action. It’s not excellent enough if it’s not consistent enough.
Although the 2022–23 NBA MVP said summer surgery is a possibility, Embiid, who turns 31 next month, is optimistic the knee will last the rest of the season.
“I think the straightforward answer is that when you’ve got something that’s inconsistent, at some point, you’ve got to do something about it,” Embiid stated. “We have no idea what it is. We’re investigating every possibility.”
When able to play, Embiid has been effective, averaging 24.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. However, the 76ers, who are at 20-32 and in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, have been ruined by his absence for the majority of this season. Issues have persisted.
