Former Clemson Tigers Stars Linebacker Announced His Return After Winning Super Bowl Rings With Philadelphia Eagles

With the Philadelphia Eagles, former Clemson Tigers players win Super Bowl rings.
The roster of Tigers with Super Bowl rings now includes these three Clemson football standouts.

On Sunday night in New Orleans, the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIV over the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22. Three former Clemson Tigers football players accompanied the Eagles on their journey.

It must have been an emotional time for Trotter Jr. He is the son of Jeremiah Trotter, a former Eagles standout who played linebacker for the team when they met the England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX. Trotter Jr. and his family went through that week.

The Eagles chose him in the fifth round of the April draft. He had 25 tackles, including nine single shots, during the regular season. In addition, he defended a pass and got a half-sack. Trotter played in the Super Bowl as a tackle

He concluded the 2022 season with 89 tackles and two interceptions, earning him a spot on the second team of the All-American team with the Tigers. He concluded the 2023 season with 88 tackles and two interceptions, earning him a spot in the all-ACC first team.

Two weeks after Kenneth Gainwell left the game and had to enter concussion protocol, Shipley carried for 77 yards and a score in the NFC Championship game, making him a hero. Gainwell, Saquon Barkley’s backup, was cleared to play.

Shipley had one tackle on special teams and returned one kickoff for 25 yards.

He caught four receptions for 35 yards and ran for 82 yards during the regular season.

In 2022, Shipley carried for 1,182 yards and 15 touchdowns and caught 38 passes for 242 yards, earning him a spot on the first team of both the ACC and the American Football Conference. During his time with the Tigers, he caught 85 passes for 602 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 2,748 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Shipley was chosen by the Eagles in the fourth round last April.

Henry did not play but was a member of the Philadelphia practice squad. He did, however, record three tackles for the season.

In 2023, Washington selected Henry in the fifth round. With 19 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two passes deflected, he made the squad and participated in 10 games. After being on practice squads for two more teams, he was cut loose following the 2024 preseason and signed with the Eagles in November.

Henry was selected to the second team of the ACC in 2022 and played for Clemson in the 2018 national championship. His five-year Tigers career ended with 13 sacks and 124 tackles.
