
WNBA players Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson were recognized by retiring their college jerseys.
Over the weekend, Wilson and Clark traveled to their respective universities to attend ceremonies honoring the athletes and their legacy as their No. 22 jerseys were retired.
This weekend, WNBA players A’ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark took a trip down memory lane when their respective schools retired their basketball uniforms in remembrance of the athletes.
On Sunday, Wilson, the three-time WNBA MVP, cemented her legacy at the University of South Carolina. In the Colonial Life Arena, her No. 22 jersey was hoisted to the ceiling.
She is three-time SEC player of the year and the program’s all-time top scorer for the Gamecocks. A monument of Wilson is located outside the main entrance of her college home court, and she assisted the program in winning its first national championship in 2017.

At the jersey retirement ceremony, Wilson remarked, “Being a Gamecock and a part of this community is a privilege.”
