The Cardinals suffer from Chaim Bloom’s absence from the Winter Warm-Up.
There are a ton of unanswered issues regarding the St. Louis Cardinals because the team’s future president of baseball operations is not present for Winter Warm-Ups.
During the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2025 Winter Warm-Ups, fans and media gathered at Busch Stadium to ask questions of the executive office and squad players. However, one voice was conspicuously absent, even though John Mozeliak, Oli Marmol, Bill DeWitt Jr., and Bill DeWitt III were there to answer questions from guests.

Even though Bloom hasn’t yet succeeded Mozeliak, 2025 will be a pivotal year because Bloom is now in charge of deciding the Cardinals’ course for next campaigns. Mozeliak started the youth movement, but Bloom will be in charge of making sure the young players come together to form a solid foundation for the Cardinals’ next competitive team in 2026.
Fans won’t be completely convinced that the Cardinals will be on the right route in 2026 and beyond if Bloom isn’t there the stage to field questions at the Winter Warm-Ups. Although Mozeliak, Marmol, and the DeWitts might have been able to supply the club with short-term solutions for the forthcoming season, no one was accessible to discuss the changes being made to the development system and how players will be taught across the lower levels.
Many supporters are angry and resentful because the Cardinals have made several blunders in public relations and fan contact over the last two seasons, and the front staff has refused to take responsibility for its errors. Being open and honest with fans is more crucial now than it has ever been, but Bloom’s absence is just another instance of the Cardinals’ apparent inability to understand or lack of concern for what its paying fans actually want to know.
Fixing what’s gone wrong on the farm is the Cardinals’ only goal going into 2025. It’s hard to believe that the company is moving in the correct way when the person in charge of that operation isn’t around to offer any advice.
