MORE GOOD NEWS: The Clemson Tigers have now agreed to finalize another deal with the Tennessee Vols, a favorite with young star fans.
Even if we were all aware that it would come, saying goodbye will still be difficult. As anticipated, Tennessee Vols star James Pearce Jr. is headed to the NFL after the formal deadline for players to declare for the 2025 draft was reached on Wednesday.
Pearce certainly took his time, delaying the announcement of his choice until the wee hours of the morning. The choice was simple for him because he was predicted to be selected in the Top 15. It will be difficult to leave Knoxville for the
tremendous skill, however, as demonstrated by the farewell video he sent on social media to inform fans of his choice:
James Pearce Jr., a pass rusher for Tennessee, has announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft.
Pearce is certain to be selected in the first round in late April as he is regarded as one of the top pass-rusher prospects for the class of 25. According to a recent mock draft by Mike Renner of CBS, the San Francisco 49ers will choose the standout player from the Vols with the eleventh overall choice. Pearce is barely outside the Top 10 then, right? He would love to see that
“The 49ers defensive line took a massive step backwards from their Super Bowl form this season,” Renner stated. “James Pearce Jr. provides the much-needed spark they’ve been lacking right away. He defends the run effectively for an undersized defender and ought to light up the NFL Scouting Combine.
Although some Tennessee supporters hoped Pearce would stay with the squad for another season, it would be obvious for him to join the league if he had the opportunity to be one of the first pass-rushers cut.
It goes without saying that he will be missed. People admired Pearce’s fire and drive on the field, and he was a force in the trenches. Even while it’s terrible that he’s finished producing plays for Josh Heupel, UT fans will still be eager to see him perform in the NFL starting in the fall.
