After Rejecting Kansas City Royals And White Sox, Texas Rangers Coach Officially Announced The Commitment Of Another Top Blockbuster Trade To Squad

Many MLB teams’ regional broadcasting choices this offseason have alternated between MLB’s in-house production and distribution strategy, Main Street Sports, and the erstwhile Diamond Sports Group, which has made a spectacular comeback.

In a significant turnabout, the Rangers have chosen a completely different third option: the digital-first Victory+. Local Rangers games will be streamed to the direct-to-consumer streaming service as part of a multiyear agreement between the club and Victory+ owner A Parent Media Co. Inc.

Prior to the end of its bankruptcy restructuring and subsequent name change, Texas was a part of Main Street Sports. However, it said last autumn that it would not be returning to the regional sports network operator.

Under the new deal, the Rangers will join a program that was started last summer with the NHL’s nearby Stars, another team that was once affiliated with DSG. Additionally, Victory+ has rights agreements with Red Bull and the Ducks. It may give the Rangers more direct influence over their local media destiny, but it’s also undoubtedly a less assured path than going back to Main Street Sports or going with the league-run alternative.

“We believe Rangers fans will appreciate the familiarity, convenience, and simplicity of the service,” stated Rangers president of business. “Victory+ has proven itself over the past few months as a dependable streaming home for several professional sports teams.”

The Rangers’ complete broadcast schedule is still being finalized, and it may include separate agreements for additional linear coverage in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. “The first element of the Rangers’ effort to provide fans with multiple viewing options for game broadcasts in 2025,” the organization said of the Victory+ contract. However, for $100, Victory+ is now offering full-season passes to watch Rangers games, including some spring training games.

The Rangers agreement also furthers a drastic transformation of Dallas’ local sports media landscape. Along with the Stars’ move, the NBA’s Mavericks have also left Main Street Sports. Instead, they stream their games on MavsTV and broadcast them on Tegna stations around the region.
