Before the trade deadline, the Warriors expressed interest in a versatile forward.
Warriors monitoring Aaron Nesmith of the Pacers
The Warriors view Pacers wing Aaron Nesmith as a player who can contribute to Golden State’s lineup in either a starting or bench position, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints (via Yardbarker via Athlon Sports):
“According to sources, the Warriors have expressed interest in Nesmith and are keeping an eye on the 25-year-old’s situation with the Pacers before the trade deadline,” Siegel said. Golden State is giving preference to backup players who can serve as a link between head coach Steve Kerr’s first and second units in the run-up to the trade deadline. Nesmith is a player who can contribute significantly to Golden State because of his team-friendly deal and his potential to be a wing catch-and-shoot threat.
Nesmith is an outstanding sportsman. His head-hunting ability to attack the rim and finish with authority, whether a defender is there or not, is a great addition to his outstanding outside shooting. The Vanderbilt product is hitting an absurd 54.5 percent from three-point range this season. Nesmith has shot 42.3 percent from outside the arc and hit 1.9 triples a game over the past two seasons.
