Sunderland boost as January loan target drops out of La Liga transfer, there was a £16.6m option to purchase
Now that Sunderland are battling at the top end of the Championship table, with promotion to the Premier League looking quite probable, the Black Cats may set their sights on some more prominent names in the transfer market.
Many Sunderland supporters thought the previous season was just terrible. Sunderland may have been in League One this season if it weren’t for Jack Clarke’s goals, but in the end, the Black Cats only ended six points above the drop zone.
Instead, the club’s fortunes have drastically changed since Regis Le Bris arrived in the summer. Sunderland won back-to-back Championship games with a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth in their most recent match.
The Black Cats are currently only three points behind leaders Leeds United in fourth place in the Championship standings. However, the outcome of this January transfer window may determine who gets promoted and who doesn’t.
Enzo Le Fee received a transfer boost from Sunderland.
La Fee, who plays for Serie A team Roma, has recently been linked to Sunderland. However, having handled the 24-year-old at Lorient in the past, Le Bris is familiar with the French central midfielder.
After moving from Rennes for £19 million in the summer, Le Fee has only made six appearances in Serie A this season. However, Real Betis has been after him, so he may already be on the way.
But according to a new rumor from the Spanish publication Dario de Sevilla, La Fee’s planned loan transfer to Real Betis has not gone through. Betis is taking too long to finalize the agreement, thus Le Fee has decided to call it quits.Sunderland’s primary goal in the window is shown by the fact that they have already been connected to many attackers. However, Enzo Le Fee, a fresh and intriguing midfield player, has been connected.
