Former Auburn and South Carolina quarterback Robby Ashford has committed to Wake Forest.

Ashford discussed his choice with Thamel. The opportunity to play under Jake Dickert, who led Cam Ward and John Mateer to successful seasons at Washington State in the past, was mentioned by the former SEC quarterback. Earlier this offseason, Dickert accepted the Wake Forest position following Dave Clawson’s announcement of his resignation.
Robby Ashford explained his choice to join Wake Forest to ESPN, saying, “It’s all about what Coach Dickert is building, his vision for the program, and wanting to win now.” “And the chance to enter and be the guy.”
Ashford played for South Carolina for one season. He was LaNorris Sellers’ backup and didn’t play much this season other than in games against Akron and LSU when Sellers was injured.
at his brief time at the position, he was a superb passer. For 324 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, he completed 23 of 32 throws. In addition, he ran for 227 yards and two more touchdowns.
