Fans in Cagayan de Oro City witnessed an exciting game where NLEX emerged victorious thanks to critical shots by Robbie Herndon and Richie Rodger.
Rodger’s layup had given the Road Warriors a 107-104 advantage with 44.8 seconds remaining, but the Beermen quickly closed the gap with a basket from import Jordan Adams.After a timeout, Herndon made a pivotal three-pointer to extend NLEX’s lead to 110-106. June Mar Fajardo managed to score for San Miguel on their next possession, but Robert Bolick’s free throws restored NLEX’s four-point lead.With 13.8 seconds left, the Beermen still had a chance, but attempts from CJ Perez and Chris Ross beyond the arc missed the mark.
This defeat marked San Miguel’s second consecutive loss in the conference, dropping their record to 2-2, while the Road Warriors improved to 3-1 in Group B.
