New York Yankees fans are expressing their strong desire for Juan Soto to remain with the team for the future, and Soto is well aware of this.
During Sunday’s victory over the Colorado Rockies, the crowd at Yankee Stadium was vocally chanting “please stay Soto.” The chants were so prominent that both Soto and Aaron Judge could clearly hear them and responded to the display.
After the game, Soto was asked about the chants. His response was to suggest that Yankee fans take up the issue with general manager Brian Cashman.“I’m not sure. They’ll need to discuss it with Cashman,” Soto chuckled.
As Soto is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, his future will be a key issue for the Yankees to tackle. He will come with a high price tag, but it’s hard to dispute his value, especially after hitting his 37th home run of the season in Sunday’s win. While there’s a belief that the Yankees may be inclined to keep him, the Mets could also be a potential contender.
Yankee fans are known for being demanding, but they have really embraced Soto. This could influence his decision, though financial considerations will undoubtedly play a significant role.
