Bobby Hurley, Arizona State, is set to visit Duke for a charity basketball exhibition.

Arizona State men’s basketball will bring head coach Bobby Hurley back to his old stomping grounds when the Sun Devils take on the Duke Blue Devils in a charity exhibition game this season.

The “Brotherhood Run” matchup will see Hurley face off against fellow former Duke player and current Blue Devils head coach Jon Scheyer. The game is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3:30 p.m. MST at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Proceeds from the event will go to Duke Children’s Hospital.

“I’m thankful to Jon Scheyer and Duke Basketball for collaborating with Arizona State to make this exhibition game happen,” Hurley said in a statement. “It will be a special experience for me to return to Cameron Indoor.”

“Our team is thrilled about the chance to face a prestigious basketball program before starting our regular season. The joint effort by Duke and Arizona State to organize this charity exhibition game in support of Duke Children’s Hospital is significant for both teams.”Back-To-Back Duke Basketball Champ Among Names to Watch for DePaul Job - Sports Illustrated Duke Blue Devils News, Analysis and MoreHurley set the NCAA men’s basketball career assist record while leading Duke to an impressive 119-26 (.821) record. During his tenure, the Blue Devils reached three Final Fours and secured championships in 1991 and 1992.

Now in his 10th season with Arizona State, the former Blue Devil has accumulated a 155-131 record with the Sun Devils.

The exhibition game will showcase Duke’s top-ranked recruiting class against Hurley’s No. 9-rated group of incoming freshmen, according to 247Sports.com.

Despite losing their top four scorers from last season, including NBA Draft selections Kyle Filipowski and guard Jared McCain, Duke returns guard Tyrese Proctor and welcomes power forward Cooper Flagg. Flagg is considered the top prospect for the 2025 draft and is the most highly anticipated college player since Zion Williamson left Duke in 2019.

Flagg, who stands at 6-foot-9, along with five-star center Khaman Maluach, will provide a significant challenge for Arizona State’s five-star recruit Jayden Quaintance, the highest-rated recruit ever to join ASU.

Arizona State’s recruiting class also features guard Joson Sanon, who reclassified to start college a year early and switched his commitment from rival Arizona Wildcats.

Duke and ASU have faced each other only once before, in 2009 at Madison Square Garden, where Scheyer led Duke to a 64-53 victory with 16 points.
