Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently defended his team’s controversial star, Draymond Green, during an appearance on “Willard & Dibs” on 95.7 The Game. This came after the Warriors were knocked out of postseason contention with a 118-94 play-in loss to the Sacramento Kings.
When asked about frustrated fans’ sentiments regarding Green’s behavior throughout the season, Kerr acknowledged Green’s flaws but urged fans to appreciate his contributions to the team over the past twelve years, including four championships and two finals appearances.
Kerr emphasized that Green is currently striving to improve himself, and the organization, including the fans, is supporting him in this endeavor because of their affection for him. Despite Green’s suspensions earlier in the season due to his conduct, Kerr hinted at the impact his presence could have had on the team’s postseason positioning in the competitive Western Conference.
Although Green faced criticism this season, it’s another Warriors star who received the most backlash following the team’s play-in elimination.
