Ness initially joined Charlton from Metropolitan Police in 2020 following a successful trial period and has since featured in 43 matches for the first team. His breakout season during 2022/23 was highly appreciated by Charlton supporters, who voted him as their Player of the Month for both January and February. Before sustaining a season-ending injury in March 2023, he had started in 16 consecutive matches.

Throughout the current season, Ness has made 20 appearances across various competitions.

Manager Nathan Jones expressed his satisfaction with securing Ness, highlighting his consistent presence within the squad. Despite limited playing time under Jones’ management due to the team’s unbeaten run, Ness’ qualities as a defender and his development through the club’s ranks have been acknowledged and celebrated. The club is proud to have him remain for another year.
