BREAKING NEWS : Superstar of the Buffalo Bulls signs with a CFL team

The Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League made a number of roster changes on Tuesday. Elijah Blades, a defensive back, was one of the news items that was mentioned. Under head coach Maurice Linguist, Blades played collegiate football at the University of Buffalo in 2022.

Blades played in eight Bulls games in 2022, with 27 tackles, 1.5 for a loss, and four passes defensed.

Blades played for Texas A&M in 2019 and 2020 before joining the Bulls, and he then played for Florida in 2021. In 17 games, he recorded 49 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, and eight passes defensed in FBS.

The Californian played two seasons as a JUCO player for Arizona Western Community College at the start of his career. After recording nine interceptions, a fumble recovery, a blocked kick, and nine pass breakups in only two seasons, he was ranked as the #4 JUCO talent in the 2019 class.

Ottawa finished the regular season 4-14 in 2023, missing out on the CFL playoffs.

The opening of the CFL training camps for the 2024 season is scheduled for Sunday, May 14, 2024.
