Analyst Says 1 NBA Team ‘Will Shock The World’ Tonight

The New Orleans Pelicans fell short when their season hung in the balance.

They had the opportunity to secure a spot outside the Play-In Tournament by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers at their home court, with their roster finally fully intact.Zion Williamson #1 of the New Orleans Pelicans is defended by Anthony Davis #3 of the Los Angeles Lakers during a game at Smoothie King Center on April 14, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

However, they found themselves trailing by a significant margin of over 30 points, leaving them with little chance against LeBron James and his teammates.

Nevertheless, sports analyst Craig Carton remains optimistic about their chances of causing an upset tonight.

During “The Carton Show,” he pointed out that despite the Lakers’ dominance over them this season, they should approach the game with greater focus. Additionally, the widespread belief that the Lakers will easily win, coupled with the likelihood of many betting on them, creates an environment ripe for an upset.

Carton also commended Zion Williamson for maintaining his health throughout the season, noting his impressive performance in a career-high 70 games.

However, he acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding Zion’s ability to handle pressure in a playoff-like atmosphere.

While Willie Green’s team displayed consistency and solidity for much of the season, their lackluster performance at home in such a crucial game last weekend was disappointing. Nevertheless, given the Lakers’ inconsistent form and the Pelicans’ considerable talent, Carton believes they have the potential to surprise the world tonight.
