With just a week remaining in the NBA regular season, the Boston Celtics are still actively adjusting their roster.
According to Michael Scotto’s report on Tuesday morning, the Celtics have finalized a two-year contract with Neemias Queta, with a team option for the 2024-25 season. Queta has been a consistent presence for the Celtics throughout the season, averaging 11.4 minutes per game, with 4.6 points and 4.1 rebounds on average. His contributions have been particularly valuable during periods of injury within the starting lineup.
Initially signed to a two-way contract, Queta had the flexibility to play with the Celtics’ G League team as well. However, with this new deal in place, it seems likely that his G League appearances may come to an end.
As the regular season winds down, the Celtics seem to have settled on their lineup, indicating minimal changes before the playoffs commence. Despite being the top team in the NBA, the Celtics are focused on maximizing their roster strength.
The extent of Queta’s involvement in the postseason remains uncertain, but he could play a significant role off the bench, especially if the team embarks on a deep playoff run. Throughout the season, the Celtics have emphasized bolstering their depth, and this last-minute contract with Queta contributes to that effort.
Queta’s last on-court appearance was on March 22, where he contributed 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in a significant victory against the Detroit Pistons.
Boston fans eagerly await Queta’s next appearance on the court, anticipating his potential impact in the upcoming games.
