BREAKING NEWS: Alabama Crimson Tide Coach Kalen DeBoer is set to Hire New Coaching Staff.

Alabama Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer has wasted no time in his efforts to maintain the program’s position at the pinnacle of college football since taking over from Nick Saban.

DeBoer has already secured his top two coordinators, with the most significant move being former Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb’s decision to join him in Tuscaloosa. Grubb, who spent two seasons with Washington after five years at Fresno State, brings with him a wealth of experience and success. In 2022, under Grubb’s guidance, the Huskies boasted impressive offensive statistics, averaging 515.8 yards per game (second only to Tennessee) and 39.7 points per game (seventh in the nation).

Grubb’s coaching prowess was particularly evident in his work with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. last season. He played a key role in shaping Washington’s passing attack, which ranked second in the nation, averaging 347.7 passing yards per game, trailing only Oregon. The team concluded the season with an impressive 38 passing touchdowns, a testament to Grubb’s expertise in developing high-powered aerial offenses.

Alabama Crimson Tide, Kalen DeBoer, William Inge

Alabama fans should be excited about the potential for Ryan Grubb to elevate Jalen Milroe’s performance to new heights. Interestingly, Grubb had previously interviewed for a position with the Alabama Crimson Tide last January but opted to remain with Kalen DeBoer in Washington.

On the defensive side, DeBoer has brought in Kane Wommack, the former head coach of South Alabama. Retaining assistants who are familiar with Saban’s program and have connections in the SEC recruiting landscape is a significant coup for DeBoer, especially coming from a program located so far away.

In another development, Kalen DeBoer has added Washington’s Assistant Head Coach William Inge to his new coaching staff at Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to a report from Football Scoop, Kalen DeBoer is adding another familiar face to his inaugural staff at the University of Alabama. William Inge, who has served as Washington’s co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, is set to join the Alabama Crimson Tide staff, as confirmed by multiple sources.

Inge is expected to once again focus on coaching linebackers. However, given his previous Assistant Head Coach title at Washington, his expertise and influence within the Alabama coaching staff are expected to be significant, particularly in matters concerning the defense.

A former standout at Iowa and a draftee of the Tennessee Titans, Inge boasts an impressive coaching pedigree. He was appointed as Washington’s co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach on December 18, 2021. Prior to joining Washington, he worked alongside Kalen DeBoer as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Fresno State for two years. Inge returned to Washington for the 2023 season after his initial tenure with the Huskies.
