Danny Cipriani, a well-traveled figure in English rugby, has officially retired from professional rugby, describing it as a “sobering but also freeing moment.”
The 36-year-old, known for his stints with England, the Wasps, Sale, and the Melbourne Rebels, had not played since 2022.
Cipriani reflected on his decision on social media, expressing that he no longer has the desire to play. His career, marked by natural talent, included notable moments such as scoring a crucial penalty for the Rebels in their first-ever Super Rugby win in 2011.
Despite off-pitch challenges, Cipriani expressed gratitude to coaches, supporters, and teammates, acknowledging the valuable lessons learned throughout his career.
