Tottenham have made it clear that they want to sign ‘terrific’ £100m Aston Villa star and he may agreed

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the sides who have reportedly made their interest in signing Jacob Ramsey clear, with Bayern Munich also keen on the Aston Villa star.

Jacob Ramsey is attracting plenty of attention after playing his part in helping Unai Emery’s men put themselves amongst the title contenders in the Premier League this season.

Things to know about Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey

The versatile midfielder has made 10 appearances for the Villans in the top-flight. But it is clear that he has a very bright future ahead, with former boss Steven Gerrard labelling him a ‘terrific‘ talent.

Tottenham register interest in signing Jacob Ramsey
And it seems that he is wanted by a host of top clubs in the Premier League and in Europe.

According to David Ornstein and The Athletic, Newcastle United have made an approach for Ramsey in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have also made their interest known. His admirers apparently believe that bids of over £50 million are likely to be considered. Aston Villa may have to move players on in the near future to make sure that they comply with profit and sustainability rules.

Huge coup for Spurs if deal is possible
It would be a huge coup if Tottenham decided to make a move and managed to secure Ramsey’s signature. He has already made well over a century of appearances for his boyhood club. And he is often one of the most exciting players on show.

Of course, like Villa, Tottenham have been one of the stories of the season. So if Villa are open to a sale, you would imagine that the chance to join Spurs may appeal to Ramsey.

He can play in a variety of roles, which would help him secure a place in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

But clearly, much will depend on how much Tottenham have to spend in the remaining days of the window, as well as whether Villa would have any real interest in letting him leave.
