Rugby Football Club Los Angeles, the newcomers to Major League Rugby, have officially announced the signing of former Wasps lock Theo Vukašinović for the upcoming season.
In anticipation of their league debut in California, formerly known as Rugby ATL in Atlanta, Rugby FC Los Angeles has enlisted the services of the 27-year-old Theo Vukašinović.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, the lock spent the latter part of the previous season with the Doncaster Knights in the Championship, joining them after the Wasps faced administration in November 2022. Although he departed from the Yorkshire club at the season’s end, Vukašinović participated as a guest player for Northampton Saints during the pre-season.
Rugby FC Los Angeles will kick off their Major League Rugby (MLR) season on March 3 against the Utah Warriors at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles.
Following the announcement of their move from Atlanta to Los Angeles in December, CEO of RFCLA Pete Sickle expressed excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to bring Major League Rugby back to Los Angeles. Under the head coaching leadership of Steve Brett, RFCLA will serve as another incredible professional sports asset to the West Coast. We look forward to partnering with AEG and others to foster the growth of the game of rugby on a more elevated level in the Greater Los Angeles community.”
