Ged Brannan is optimistic about Morecambe’s recently revamped squad and looks forward to building on their impressive victory at MK Dons as they prepare for consecutive home games. Following a 2-1 win at Stadium MK last Saturday, Morecambe is set to host Crewe Alexandra tonight and Colchester United on Saturday.
Brannan faced the challenge of rebuilding the squad this month, bringing in six new players after the departure of the club’s previous five loanees. Notably, five of the new recruits played significant roles in the recent triumph against MK Dons, with Ged Garner and Archie Mair starting, and Gwion Edwards, Brandon Barker, and Kayden Harrack making appearances off the bench.
The victory propelled Morecambe to the 13th position in League Two, and as they prepare to face Crewe, currently sitting fourth with four consecutive victories, Brannan expresses excitement about the remainder of the season. He eagerly anticipates getting the new signings fully integrated into the team, emphasizing their quality and the positive impact witnessed in the previous match.
Reflecting on facing top teams like Mansfield Town and MK Dons in recent weeks, Brannan asserts that his team is not intimidated by any opponent. With two consecutive home games ahead, he sees an opportunity to climb the league standings.
