Duke Basketball: Reclassification Prospect Currently Receiving Interest from Blue Devils.

A highly sought-after recruit for 2025 may become a target for the 2024 Duke basketball recruiting wishlist.

Currently, the Duke basketball coaching staff is focused on recruiting a single uncommitted high school senior to enhance their already impressive 2024 recruiting class, which features NBA Academy Africa’s five-star center, Khaman Maluach. However, this exclusive pursuit might expand soon.

Recently, Joson Sanon, the No. 11 overall prospect on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, revealed to national recruiting insider “Trilly Donovan” that Duke has initiated contact with him. Furthermore, he confirmed that discussions about reclassifying to join the 2024 class are underway.

The highly-regarded five-star prospect, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 190 pounds, mentioned that he is now attracting attention from another formidable basketball program, Kentucky. Alongside this new interest, he maintains ongoing communication with several other prominent schools, including UConn, Arizona, Providence, Oklahoma State, Indiana, and Georgia, who have been actively pursuing him.

“Trilly Donovan” hinted that Joson Sanon’s reclassification to 2024 seems imminent and inquired whether he envisions playing alongside top Duke recruit Montverde Academy’s five-star forward, Cooper Flagg.

“Of course,” Sanon affirmed. “I’m a shot-maker. I can play with anybody, for real.”

When asked about a potential visit to Duke, Sanon expressed openness, saying, “Well, I’ve got two weeks in February open. So, whoever’s open is open. Maybe Duke. Maybe Kentucky.” He has already scheduled official visits to Kansas on the weekend of Feb. 3 and to Georgia two weeks later. Considering Duke’s home games against Boston College on Feb. 10 and Louisville on Feb. 28, there’s a possibility they could host Joson Sanon on one of those weekends.
