Alabama football secures a commitment from 4-star edge player Noah Carter.

One day after five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams reaffirmed his commitment to Alabama football, the Tide added another commitment under Kalen DeBoer’s leadership. On Thursday, Noah Carter, a four-star 2024 edge prospect, shared the news, expressing it as the “best birthday gift” in a social media post.

Carter, who previously played high school football at Centennial in Arizona, initially committed to DeBoer in Washington. However, when DeBoer accepted the position at Alabama, succeeding Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa, Carter withdrew his commitment from the Huskies and chose to follow DeBoer to Alabama.

Ranked as the 22nd edge rusher in his class by the 247Sports composite rankings, Noah Carter is described as an exceptionally athletic player with versatile skills. According to Blair Angulo, a recruiting analyst for 247Sports in the mountain region, Carter is a dynamic defender capable of making an impact on both ends. Angulo notes Carter’s agility, excellent lateral movement, and impressive bend and explosiveness in pursuit. Carter excels in a stand-up role, utilizing his quickness to apply immediate pressure on offensive tackles and skillfully navigating creases to advance forward.

Carter initially committed to Washington but following his coach DeBoer’s move to Alabama, he requested and was granted a release from his national letter of intent. Despite having signed during the early signing period in December, Carter chose to follow DeBoer to Tuscaloosa. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 228 pounds, Carter recently visited Tuscaloosa, sharing images on social media alongside DeBoer and Crimson Tide players such as Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, and Jihaad Campbell.

During his senior high school season, Carter showcased his prowess on both sides of the ball, amassing 55 tackles and 11 sacks on defense. Additionally, he contributed on offense with eight receiving touchdowns.
