Birmingham City has kicked off the January transfer window with the addition of Queens Park Rangers midfielder Andre Dozzell, who joined on loan last week. This move marks Tony Mowbray’s first signing as the team’s manager. Dozzell, a 24-year-old who has started 22 Championship games for QPR this season, made his debut for Blues in their 2-1 victory against Stoke City.
While the acquisition of Dozzell sets the tone for Birmingham City’s transfer activities, the club remains active in the market, actively seeking reinforcements. Additionally, there is the possibility of player departures from St Andrew’s before the end of the month. Among the rumored targets is South Korean midfielder Paik Seung-ho, who has been linked with Blues.
In addition to incoming and outgoing player movements, the club is considering loan moves for several youngsters in the second half of the season. Notably, right-sided players Marcel Oakley and Josh Williams are among those potentially being considered for loan deals. Williams, in particular, has recently returned from a stint with League One side Cheltenham Town.
Midfielder Brandon Khela has embarked on a loan move to Ross County. With two first-team appearances for Blues this season, Khela is eager to gain further senior experience in Scotland.
