Lions agree to sign three-time Pro Bowl tight end. Zach Ertz, an AP source, says
The Detroit Lions have reached an agreement with three-time Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz, according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke with The Associated Press Monday night.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the signing had not yet been disclosed by the team.
Ertz scored the game-winning touchdown in Philadelphia’s Super Bowl victory against New England six years ago and established a record for catches by a tight end in a season with 116 in 2018. Ertz was moved by the Eagles to Arizona for the 2021 season and requested his release from the Cardinals earlier this season.
The Lions lacked depth at tight end behind rookie Sam.
