A new player is allegedly at the top of AC Milan’s wish list as they make an investment in a new striker this summer ahead of the 2024–25 campaign.

In order to compete in the 2024–25 season, AC Milan is aware that they need to make an investment in a new striker this summer, and Benjamin Sesko is apparently the player they have their eye on the most.

Sesko checks all the boxes, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport’s story from this morning (which can be seen below), making him a strong contender to be Milan’s top summer target.

Finding a young striker who can lead the line for years is the top goal, as Luka Jovic and Olivier Giroud both have contracts that expire in June and Giroud is 37, and the MLS is a tempting option for the Frenchman.

Thus, the Rossoneri are looking for a player who can develop further (Sesko is 20 years old), who is strong and prepared to make an impact in the field, and who may end up being a reliable goal scorer for them.

It will be the most difficult decision for Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada, the person in charge of transfers, because they cannot make a mistake with this deal, unlike when it comes to depth player acquisitions, where mistakes are permitted.

Sesko stayed in the Red Bull orbit when he relocated from Salzburg to Leipzig for more than €20 million, although he isn’t playing as often as one would think in Germany. He has two starts and two goals in the Champions League, compared to four starts and three goals in the league.

With players like Openda, Xavi Simons, Poulsen, and Dani Olmo up front, RB Leipzig has quality, so playing time is not guaranteed. Sesko is still technical and has good acceleration skills, but he also maintains coordination.

What would he set you back? Although it’s hard to say, those who put the figure at €40 million are not far off. Naturally, there are too many analogies between Sesko and Erling Haaland because of how much lower Sesko scored.
