Formal Head Coach Calls Celtics’ Win Against Raptors ‘A Bizarre Game’..

The Boston Celtics completed the season sweep of the Toronto Raptors with a 105-96 victory north of the border. Derrick White and Jrue Holiday scored 44 points and made nine three-pointers.

Despite missing Jaylen Brown due to right knee hyperextension, Boston managed to offset the hosts’ 18-3 run to start the second half and regain control of the game. Jayson Tatum, who finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists, led a 30-9 run that drove the visitors to victory.

Following the victory, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla had this to say about the atmosphere of Monday’s game.

“It was a weird game, first of all,” said Boston’s second-year bench coach, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic. “A strange setting. “One of those situations where we had to fight to constantly generate our own energy.”

The Celtics have won 16 of their past 20 games. The first squad to achieve 30 victories is now 31-9 this season. They are first in net rating and third in offensive and defensive efficiency.

Brown and Tatum have played like All-NBA players. Holiday appears to be more at ease with the attack, actively seeking for his shot, while White and Kristaps Porzingis continue to elevate the club.

Boston’s busy stretch resumes on Wednesday, when rookie prodigy Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs visit the TD Garden. The Celtics will attempt to improve to 20-0 on the court this season and build on the franchise record they set for their best home start to a season.
