Rotherham United midfielder Sam Clucas’ magnificent strike against Sunderland at the AESSEAL New York Stadium has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship’s December Goal of the Month award.

Clucas’ name will be put forward for a supporters vote, which will take place until 5 p.m. on Monday, January 15th, with Millers fans able to vote online.

The complete list of nominees for the award is as follows.

Wesley Hoedt, Hull City v WATFORD – December 2nd

It’s one thing to brag about lobbing a keeper from 45 yards, as Watford had done before the game, but it’s quite another for a center defense to do so with such pinpoint accuracy as Hoedt did.

Wes Burns – IPSWICH TOWN vs. Coventry City – 2nd December

Despite Conor Chaplin’s whipped pass and a five-player move across the Portman Road pitch, Burns’ bold, magnificent banana shot off the outside of his right boot stood out.

James Justin – Cardiff City vs Leicester City – December 29th.

When they’re 25 yards away from the goal, some players opt for raw power. Leicester full-back Justin went for precision, neatly lifting the ball over Cardiff’s Jak Alnwick and into the top corner.

Sam Clucas – ROTHERHAM UNITED vs Sunderland – 29th December

Clucas blended mental speed with physical agility, predicting where the ball would land, running onto it, and connecting his left-foot volley with thundering timing and accuracy.

Fans are asked to vote for their favorite goal on EFL.com by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 15.

The supporters’ votes will be merged with a panel’s selections to determine the winners.

Don Goodman and David Prutton, EFL specialists for Sky Sports, make up the panel of judges.
