The Boston Celtics will be shorthanded on Thursday night when they face the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum in a highly anticipated clash between the Eastern Conference’s two best teams right now.
While Boston’s major talents will be ready to play against Milwaukee — Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both had monster performances in an overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday — the Celtics will be without one of their crucial starters on Thursday.
According to the official injury report, veteran big man Al Horford will be unable to play on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 37-year-old is now battling with a non-COVID ailment, which will cause him to miss the big game against Giannis Antetokounmpo and company.
It’s worth mentioning that Horford entered Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves with a doubtful tag from the same issue. However, he was eventually cleared to play and finished with nine points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three triples in 38 minutes.
The fact that the Celtics are playing the second night of a back-to-back set may have also influenced the team’s choice to rest Horford that night.
