Sunderland await decision from ‘unbeatable’ PL star over Jan move after ‘serious talks..

Sunderland held ‘preliminary conversations’ with a Premier League player this month.

Sunderland are searching for a new striker after a rocky first half of the season left their existing crop goalless until Nazariy Rusyn scored on New Year’s Day.

The Black Cats signed Rusyn, Luis Hemir Semedo, Eliezer Mayenda, and Mason Burstow in the summer, although none of them have had a successful start on Wearside.

Sunderland have been connected with Bournemouth’s Kieffer Moore as they seek to strengthen their attack, with the Cherries willing to loan out the Welshman.

Moore has 39 goals in his last 94 Championship outings, but he has failed to receive much minutes since Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League.

Sunderland will face heavy competition for the ‘unplayable’ 31-year-old’s signature, with Cardiff, Middlesbrough, and Ipswich Town all reportedly interested.

Michael Beale’s representatives are claimed to have discussed a prospective move, while The Northern Echo reports that the club is now waiting for Bournemouth to make a decision on his future.

Can Sunderland actually sign Kieffer Moore?

Both Bournemouth and Kieffer Moore will prefer a deal that guarantees the forward regular first-team games as he attempts to cement his position in the Wales squad ahead of the Euro play-offs in March.

Sunderland may make Moore a very appealing offer, given that a number of Championship clubs already have their own offensive alternatives.

However, the Wearside club will face a significant challenge in beating Cardiff to his signing. Moore spent two seasons in Wales and was extremely successful, which may motivate him to return to his previous club and the country where he currently plays.

Moore would be a major signing for Sunderland if they could pull it off, as the striker would provide the Black Cats with something they have lacked since Ross Stewart’s injury a year ago.

However, it is alarming that Moore appears to be the only proven striker linked with Sunderland. What will happen if we don’t sign him? Will we return to looking at young, inexperienced players with only five senior appearances to their name?

It’s a big month for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman, and it might truly shape the fans’ impressions of them.
