Milwaukee Brewers have confirmed that they have signed another outstanding player with a message from the three worlds.
Austin Nola, a catcher, has signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, which includes an invitation to major league camp. He had been with the San Diego Padres since 2020, during which time his offensive output has declined, his defensive prowess has regressed, and his health has been an issue. Although this 34-year-old addition increases the organization’s depth at the position, he is not expected to make an MLB impact.
The Brewers presently have Eric Haase, Jeferson Quero, and William Contreras on their 40-man roster as catchers. Haase is projected to be the backup, and Contreras is the obvious everyday player. Although Quero is a bright prospect who was added to avoid the Rule-5 draft, he has not yet participated in a Triple-A game.
