Target tackle for an Auburn transfer has arrived on campus.
Percy Lewis, an offensive tackle transfer from Mississippi State, has reportedly arrived to Auburn for an official visit.
Lewis visits Arkansas earlier in the week before arriving at Auburn. Lewis has become the Tigers’ primary target, and they plan to start him in 2024. When Lewis was a junior at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Auburn was interested in him. He declined Auburn to attend Mississippi State.
Lewis weighs 345 pounds and 6 feet 8 inches tall. In 2023, he started seven games.
In an attempt to find a possible starter at tackle, Auburn has actively invited and spent time with transfer offensive linemen. It’s assumed that Auburn will be able to move Dillon Wade inside to play next to and guard Connor Lew at center. The other tackle would be Izavion Miller.
Lewis played 491 snaps for Mississippi State last season, according to PFF. His offensive snaps were almost entirely at left tackle. In order to aid in the running game, he took six snaps as inline tight end.
Through the transfer portal during this gateway session, Auburn has added linebacker Dorian Mausi, defensive lineman Gage Keys, wide receiver Robert Lewis, and wide receiver Sam Jackson V. Auburn needs more assistance on both sides of the ball in the trenches.
