Fabrizio Romano Responds To Rumor That Bruno Guimarães of Newcastle Is Connected To PSG Using A Prize Tag
Regarding Bruno Guimarães being under consideration by Paris Saint-Germain, there are differing reports. Even said, if the capital club chose to go after the Newcastle United midfielder, it would come at a hefty price.
Guimarães was mentioned in the first reports on Thursday as PSG’s backup midfielder. It now seems that PSG is keeping an eye on the Brazilian, despite previous reports to the contrary. Moreover, new information surfaced on Friday, confirming the connection between Guimarães and the French behemoths.
Expert in the transfer window Fabrizio Romano offered his insights on the Ligue 1 team’s purported interest in the former Olympique Lyonnais player.
Romano wrote for CaughtOffside, “At this point, I am not aware of anything on a deal with PSG for Bruno Guimarães.” PSG definitely like Bruno, but as of right now, I’m not aware of any formal negotiations. It’s quite calm right now, but I’ll update if anything changes.
Romano wasn’t the only person to discuss this rumor; Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, also spoke about it. Given the significance of Howe’s comments, it is unlikely that Guimarães would depart from the Magpies in January.
PSG is expected to pay the €115 million release clause in the event that Guimarães leaves. It should be interesting to watch these coming days to see if anything new comes to light.
