Marco Silva: Football Association charges Fulham manager following remarks regarding referee
The Football Association has charged Fulham manager Marco Silva for remarks he made against the referee during the Cottagers’ 3-0 loss at Newcastle.
Silva claimed that Sam Barrott “didn’t have the experience to handle the pressure” following the team’s loss last month.
Raul Jimenez of Fulham was sent off, and Silva was not happy that Jamaal Lascelles got away with it when he caught the Mexican two minutes earlier.
The FA claims that his remarks are inappropriate behavior.
The Football Association said of Silva: “It is alleged that his comments in the post-match interviews following the fixture constitute improper conduct, in that they imply bias and/or question the integrity of and/or are insulting towards the match official and/or bring the game into disrepute.”
Silva has until January 8th, Monday, to answer.
