Potential Patriots Quarterback Target Shines Out To Dominate Sugar Bowl..

The New England Patriots, who have a favorable pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, will probably be looking for a new franchise quarterback.

A number of names, such as Louisiana State quarterback Jayden Daniels, University of North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, and University of Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams, have made sense for New England to keep an eye on.

A different quarterback may be experiencing a spike in popularity following an outstanding showing during the College Football Playoffs in the Sugar Bowl.

Before Monday’s game, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. of the Washington Huskies had an incredible season with 4,218 passing yards and 33 touchdowns.

Penix tore at the Texas Longhorns’ defense in Washington’s playoff game, finishing 29 of 38 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns. Penix displayed his developing talent with a series of absurd throws throughout the evening.

The Heisman Trophy runner-up may be positioning himself to be selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. New England will have to weigh a number of factors when deciding which quarterback to select, as the Patriots are drawing near to a top pick.

In his collegiate career, Penix has excelled, improving both with the Washington Huskies and the Indiana Hoosiers. Penix has performed well this season and demonstrated his ability to dominate at a high level, despite his doubts over his history of serious injuries sustained while in college. Would the Patriots find that appealing?

Penix is one of the gifted quarterbacks who might hear their name called first in the draft in April.

While the Patriots are getting ready to play the New York Jets in Week 18 to end their season, Washington is getting ready to play Michigan for a national title.
