The Buffalo Bills are preparing for a crucial game against the Miami Dolphins, who are division rivals in the AFC East, in Week 18. Nonetheless, there appears to be some worry over Josh Allen’s health, as Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott stated on Monday that the signal-caller is having neck pain.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear that Allen’s neck problem is enough to prevent him from practicing (h/t Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News).
When asked if Josh Allen’s practice status will be impacted, Sean McDermott responds, “Not that I’m aware of.”
The reason Allen is probably uncomfortable is that he got a stinger in the Week 17 game against the New England Patriots. Allen completed 15 of 30 passes for 169 yards and zero touchdowns against the Patriots, with one interception. Despite his lackluster passing statistics, he made up for it with a strong running game, leading the Bills to victory with 44 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.
The Bills are getting ready for a crucial Week 18 matchup against the Dolphins.
To qualify for the playoffs, Allen and the Bills only need to defeat the Dolphins on Sunday. If Miami defeats them, they still have a chance to get to the postseason—that is, if the Pittsburgh Steelers do not upset the Baltimore Ravens.
Should Allen be unexpectedly ruled out of the Dolphins game, the Bills will probably go with backup Kyle Allen.
