An embarrassing moment involving Anthony Gordon was spotted during Newcastle United’s defeat by Liverpool on Monday night.

Salah signs off in style as Liverpool move three points clear

Under the lights at Anfield, Liverpool finally proved to be too strong for Newcastle, winning 4-2 with to goals from Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Curtis Jones.

But after Diogo Jota went down spectacularly, Liverpool was given a late penalty, which left Newcastle angry.

Salah scored the penalty, sending Magpies goalie Martin Dubravka the wrong way.

Gordon, a winger for Newcastle, appeared in a video that went viral after the game.

The former Everton player attempted to give Dubravka a hint as to where Salah’s penalty might land by pointing to his right.

But Salah sent his penalty the other way, much to Gordon’s humiliation.

Speaking about Salah after the victory, Reds coach Klopp said: “Nobody should be now really surprised that Mo can change a game, can improve in a game and all these kinds of things, because he did it just hundreds of times.

But it’s also a really nice example of how, if you have more goals, you become more accustomed to missing opportunities, especially penalty kicks. And the more you realize what’s required of you, the easier it will be to keep moving forward and, if needed—which happens frequently—to keep getting better at handling circumstances. And Mo acted in that manner.

He went on: “It was a fantastic game from beginning to end. I would say that after 35 minutes, there was a disallowed goal and a missed penalty, with a very high level of excitement and a tiny dip in energy. entered the second half and, after 35 minutes, we essentially resumed where we had left off.

“Once again, this is a really wonderful game from beginning to end, and having these options available to you is clearly quite helpful. Apart from the goals that were clearly conceded, which we could see on Ali [Alisson Becker’s] face in particular, I thought the game and the atmosphere were fantastic. However, we accept it for tonight and move on.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was spotted doing a superstitious act which helped him score his late penalty against Newcastle.

Liverpool began 2024 on New Year’s Day by defeating Newcastle 4-2 to take a three-point lead atop the Premier League standings.

Liverpool dominated play, with 34 shots and an anticipated goals total of 7.27, the most since Opta began keeping track of the data in 2010.

After missing a penalty in the first half, Salah quickly atoned for his mistake by giving the Reds the lead, only for Alexander Isak to cancel it out.

After that, Liverpool took the lead again thanks to a double from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo, and the match ended nervously when Sven Botman nodded in against the flow of play.

But Salah finally put the game away with his second spot-kick of the match, following Liverpool’s contentious late penalty that was awarded to Diogo Jota.

After the Egyptian missed a penalty in the first half, supporters on social media noted that he had changed his boots during halftime.

Salah told Sky Sports, in response to a question about why he changed his shoes for the second half, “I just trained with the ones I missed a penalty with yesterday.”

“I wanted to change them, but it’s not superstitious.” My mind was at ease when I made the change.”

“It’s a great result for us,” Salah continued. We managed to gain three points in a very competitive game, and as a result, we are currently leading the standings. We must maintain our composure and win each game.

“In the locker room, the guys conversed. We must maintain our composure. I overlooked the pen. After that performance, I didn’t want to depart with the national team.”

Now, Salah will focus on the Africa Cup of Nations, where he intends to guide Egypt to continental dominance.

He declared his desire to win the competition. We have a few very talented players. There are players on our team that can fill my role. Being a member of the national team has great meaning. I can’t afford to take anything for granted. It would be wonderful to win.”

Anthony Gordon absolutely lost his head when he was substituted, clashed with Eddie Howe

Anthony Gordon embarrassed as fans spot what he did seconds before Mo Salah penalty

Gordon joined the match at halftime, with Newcastle United down 1-0 after a penalty kick by Ivan Toney.

After David Raya committed an own goal and Alexander Isak curled home a spectacular goal in the 61st minute, the Magpies struck back in the second half.

And with the seconds running out, Howe took Matt Ritchie’s position in the second half by substituting Gordon.

However, the England under-21 player cut an irate figure as he went off the field, clearly not appreciating that he had been hauled off before the final whistle.

Howe extended his hand, but the 22-year-old refused to accept his manager’s offer.

The player, who arrived from Everton during the January transfer window, then waved Howe away as Joe Willock intervened.

Howe and Gordon exchanged a few words before the winger sat down in the dugout.

His haughty response to the Newcastle manager infuriated many on social media.

“That is actually so disgraceful, who does he think he is?” a Twitter user said.

Another person commented, “How disrespectful is that?”

Another wrote on Twitter: “That’s crazy considering they just bought in January and he’s already acting like this towards the coach.”
